The Interuniversity Centre for the Comparative Analysis of Law and Economics, Economics of Law, Economics of Institutions (CLEI - Centre on Law, Economics and Institutions) was founded in 2003 by:

- Ecole Polytechnique (Pole de Recherche en Economie et Gestion)
- Università di Torino (Dipartimenti di Economia 'S.Cognetti de Martiis', Scienze Economiche e Finanziarie 'G.Prato', Scienze Giuridiche)
- Universiteit van Gent (Law School, Centre for Advanced Studies in Law and Economics)
All CLEI partner Institutions are Research Centres known at international level and share core research objectives converging towards the common interest in Economic Analysis of Law and the Terminological Methodology.
The agreement between partner Institutions was drawn up with a deliberation of the Academic Senate of Università di Torino on December 2nd, 2002.
CLEI is a research unit of COLLEGIO CARLO ALBERTO and a member of ISAIDAT (ISTITUTO SUBALPINO PER L'ANALISI E L'INSEGNAMENTO DEL DIRITTO DELLE ATTIVITÁ TRANSNAZIONALI)
